Starting this summer, CASA will start training volunteers with a new independent learning curriculum. This is a 5- week course during which the volunteer will study independently and will meet with an instructor and other volunteers once a week at a mutually agreed upon time for further learning and discussion. While CASA will still have 3 in-person training sessions a year, this is ideal for someone who does not live in the Greeley area or has commitments which make the in-person training difficult.
CASA volunteers advocate for children and youth in the dependency and neglect system, raising their voices so that those without a voice can be heard. No experience necessary, just a love for children required! Now more than ever, CASA volunteers play a crucial role in helping children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Independent Learning Sessions begin July 20 and August 24. The next in-person training begins September 30th.
The CASA program currently serves about 25% of the children who could have a CASA volunteer. More volunteers equal more children served.
If you have passion for helping children, consider becoming a CASA volunteer. To get more information please contact Sharon at 970-353-5970 or email sharon@lifestoriesweld.org.
