Meet Brayden: Brayden is 6. Until recently, he had a home, a dog, and a room with his own toys. Everything changed the night his stepdad beat his mom. Brayden came to the Child Advocacy Center. He told the forensic interviewer what he saw and heard that terrible night. He talked about his mom’s drug use and how hard the last year has been. It felt good to tell someone. While Brayden’s mom recovers from her injuries and works on getting clean, Brayden has been placed in foster care. To insure that Brayden has a comprehensive team addressing his needs, he was assigned a CASA volunteer. His CASA volunteer is Tim and they spend time together talking and playing. Tim even helps him with his homework. As part of Brayden’s team, Tim is helping to reunite Brayden with his mom. Recently, Brayden has been visiting with his mom and soon he will start the transition home.
